Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Students,

As we are nearing the middle of Term 3 and we would like you to focus your attention to a very eventful, but very significant term coming ahead. I would like to remind our parents and students about the importance of attendance. Statistics show that each day missed is heavily associated with increasingly lower academic achievement in numeracy, writing and reading. Absence can also have a big impact on the students socially, leading to social isolation. If your child misses school for any reason, it is best that you ensure to contact their teachers and find out what content or assessments they’ve missed out on. I highly recommend you to organise overseas trips during school holiday time. If not, the school may not approve the absence, especially if your son is in VCE.

Our phone policy has been reviewed and some changes have been made. It is available in our student handbook. However, I would still like to remind our students that phones are not allowed during school hours. If a student is caught with their phone, there will be consequences with the extreme case of sim cards being confiscated for a term.

Our scholarship policy is also updated. You will be notified shortly. Please read carefully before you apply. In terms of academic scholarship, B+ students can apply because there can be students who are very close to half scholarships and may get it at the end of Term 3. Cumulative results at the end of Term 3 scores will also be considered. A is for half and A+ is for full scholarship.

Eid al-Adha, known as the festival of sacrifice, is an Islamic holiday that commemorates our beloved Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) and the momentous act of submission he made – his willingness to give up what he loved most, his one and only son, Ismail, for the sake of Allah (SWT). I celebrate with parents and students Eid al-Adha. I would like to thank you for donating your Qurban. When you donate your Qurban to us, we prioritise providing meat to the most vulnerable families across the world during the holy season. Our international teams work hard to get your donation to the most hard to reach regions and conflict-affected areas. We sent Qurbans to Kenya this year. Typically, meat is sourced locally in order to support the local economy and distributed fresh. All logistics from sacrifice to transport are handled in accordance with Islamic principles. We sent students and teachers to help with distribution. Thank you very much for your help.

Next Term during the first week, we are organising a year 11 and 12 VCE study camp, where our students will be given extra support for their upcoming exams. It is a compulsory camp. We expect all of our VCE students to participate in the camp where students will be given study skills, one-on-one sessions with their teachers and lectures. We believe that this will be a very beneficial camp for all our VCE students.
